Halloween 2014

Halloween was so much fun with Sally this past year! And I have a feeling this coming year will be even more fun. The Riverwoods had trick-or-treating a few days before Halloween, so we used that as a test run for Sally. You just never know how a toddler is going to respond to a new situation. In short, though, Sally loved it. Once she realized people were giving her candy just for showing up, she was all about it! And her costume was a big hit. Since it went so well, we decided to let her trick-or-treat on Halloween night, too.

We went to the neighborhood in our ward and joined the Primary Halloween parade. But a few of the costumes were a bit upsetting to little Sal, so things got off to a rocky start.

But Sally soon recovered. Here she is with one of our Primary kids, Lizzy.

Sal really loved trick-or-treating once again, but she couldn't quite understand the concept of grabbing just one piece of candy. Luckily, most people let it slide since it's hard to say no to a two-year-old aerobics instructor.
When we got home, we let her indulge in a sucker, which was unbelievably sticky and messy. And then off to bed she went. I can't remember a Halloween I enjoyed so much. Having kids during holidays makes it so much more fun!
