Our first week home with Sally had a very steep learning curve. It felt great to get home from the hospital. Johnny was finally grateful for all my crazy nesting because we came home to a very clean house! That first night Sally was only happy if she was nursing, so I barely got any sleep. We all finally fell asleep as a family at about 7 a.m. on our living room couch. I woke up at 9:40 and realized we had a doctor's appointment to get to by 10:00! Sally left the hospital fairly jaundice, so she had three doctor's appointments the first week to check her bilirubin levels. Needless to say, we made it to that first doctor's appointment pretty late. I'm sure Johnny and I looked like awesome parents with our unshowered, tired, and disheveled selves.
My mom arrived later that day, and everything started looking up from there. I was still very weak from giving birth, and neither Johnny nor I had slept in three days. She was our saving grace. She cooked a homemade meal every night, and we took shifts loving on little Sally so we could all get some sleep.
I'm so obsessed with little miss Sally Jane. Johnny and I can't give her enough kisses. Here are some pictures of Sally her first week home, and still looking very yellow :)

she is a beauty! and her eyes are just like johnny's!
She is so pretty! Did you make that hat? It's adorable. And you couldn't have chosen a lovelier name. Congratulations!
Oh, and I'm sure all first-time parents look disheveled at any appointments. All my friends tell me how impossible it is to get out of the house with a newborn. Glad your mom could come help--moms are the best!
Joanna and Johnny,
I love these pictures! Seems like I was just there to watch you take them. Sally is such a beauty, just like her mom. There is a lot of sugar around that neck of her and those adorable cheeks!! So glad you are getting a lot of it.
Love all 3 of you so very much!
MOM

3. How amazing that you already posted twice since Sally was born!! You are rockin' motherhood!
Love ya, sis!
No, you've posted three times! Yes, you are awesome.
And it is especially awesome for those of us that live far away and thirst for posts to stay updated. :)
