Ice Cream Weekend

Oh, the weekend is a wonderful thing. I think this weekend exceeded all expectations of laziness. In a good way. We watched General Conference, Johnny got a haircut, I got ice cream with a lady friend while Johnny watched more General Conference, and then Johnny got ice cream with some men friends. And that was our Saturday. Sunday, we lazed about in bed for a good part of the day.

I tell you what. Summer cannot come soon enough. Johnny starts his work softball league next week, we have multiple concerts planned, and summer clothing is calling my name. And I cannot wait to start meeting Johnny for lunch a few days a week again.

On Friday night, we had to grab a few groceries, and while at the store, we both got a hankering for ice cream. So, naturally, we meandered over to the ice cream aisle:

Those were the prices staring us in the face. Luckily, we found some Edy's (aka Dreyer's) ice cream on sale for $5.00, so our ice cream cravings were able to be satiated. But still . . . not okay.

Conference Brunch

On Sunday, our friends Klane and Angie hosted a brunch at their apartment.
The host and hostess
Johnny, me, Amanda, and Alexa
These are the same girls Angie and I met up with during our girls' night on Saturday while the boys were at the priesthood session of General Conference. I met both of them through Angie. Amanda is married and lives in Utah, but she is out in New York for an public relations internship right now. Alexa just moved here from South Carolina, and she is an editor at a publishing company out here. One of the best parts of moving out here has been getting to meet new people!

The food was amazing. You are going to be jealous when you see the pictures:

The only thing I contributed to the brunch was eating, and I was very happy to do that. It was all SO delicious. It was in the 50s outside and the wind was blowing like crazy, and it was so great to come in from the wind and have a hot, delicious brunch while watching General Conference.
