80 degrees

I just changed my work hours to start at 7:00 each morning instead of 9:00, which leaves time for little excursions such as the one shown above. Is reading a book on the Great Lawn in Central Park just a typical afternoon for me now???! I feel very lucky.

p.s. Kindles are dangerous things. I may never buy a real book again...

update

I don't know how or why, but I've gotten out of my groove of posting. Life is quite great right now. I really have no complaints. This morning I realized that it's getting warm enough that I may have to start wearing shorts running, which means exposing my white legs!

As summer is quickly approaching, I've been ordering myself some summer clothes here and there . . . and then sending pictures to Johnny of said clothes while also talking on the phone to sister about said clothes.  Exhibit A:

Johnny worked late some last week. I need him around. I have a large family, and while I do enjoy alone time, I don't enjoy lonely time.

But that's what the weekends are for. I did desert him some this weekend while watching North & South on my laptop, but he was sure to get my attention every now and then with his commentary: "That movie seriously sounds so depressing." "Just hearing it is making me angry because of how depressing it sounds." "That sounds like the worst movie ever."

What a boy. (Also, I missed his softball game last week, but he hit a home run and was game MVP!)

We had a wonderful Easter weekend of eating lots of jelly beans and being together. For Easter dinner, we had enchiladas. . . . I guess the spiral ham will come once we have children?

What's my age again?

Sometimes I forget that I'm only 23. That's so young!! I feel like so many people my age already talk like they're in their mid-40s or something... "Back when I was a teenager..." I guess I've just felt bogged down by responsibility lately, and that's making me feel old. Booo.

SO, Johnny and I have been staying busy as of late. He has begun his work softball league! I have not been to a game, but I will go eventually, and I will bring a camera like the over-excited proud wife that I am.

Anyway, enough writing. Spring has sprung, and I brought my camera on my jog today:

Ice Cream Weekend

Oh, the weekend is a wonderful thing. I think this weekend exceeded all expectations of laziness. In a good way. We watched General Conference, Johnny got a haircut, I got ice cream with a lady friend while Johnny watched more General Conference, and then Johnny got ice cream with some men friends. And that was our Saturday. Sunday, we lazed about in bed for a good part of the day.

I tell you what. Summer cannot come soon enough. Johnny starts his work softball league next week, we have multiple concerts planned, and summer clothing is calling my name. And I cannot wait to start meeting Johnny for lunch a few days a week again.

On Friday night, we had to grab a few groceries, and while at the store, we both got a hankering for ice cream. So, naturally, we meandered over to the ice cream aisle:

Those were the prices staring us in the face. Luckily, we found some Edy's (aka Dreyer's) ice cream on sale for $5.00, so our ice cream cravings were able to be satiated. But still . . . not okay.
