4th of July: Day

Long weekends are the best.

Johnny and I spent our Saturday on the beach, and I really wish I'd brought a camera. We went to a different beach than usual, and it was quiet, clean, and secluded. It will be our beach of choice from now on.

On Monday, we started off the day by watching the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. It is so hard for me to watch, but Johnny insists that there's nothing more American.

Next, we took a walk through Central Park.

We ended up on the West Side, and Johnny took me to his favorite street meat cart.

It was Indian food from the Biryani cart. Johnny ordered us kati rolls, and they were so good. This is definitely my new favorite street meat.

By this point we had walked a few miles, and we were both very tired, so we took the subway back to our apartment.

We wanted to cool off and rest up before we headed back out to watch the fireworks!

There is something inherently wrong with the term "street meat." I can't help thinking it was scooped off the sidewalk. Proof that I'm a small-town girl, I guess.

Did you take the pics with your new camera? They look fab!
