Saturday's Adventures

I love the weekends. Saturdays especially. Right now the weather is perfect, we have a BYU football game to watch (even if we do lose...boo), and it's our only day each week to really take advantage of the city. Johnny and I started out the day (at around 1:00) by walking along the East River near our apartment.

A passing runner offered to take a picture of the two of us. Right after, Johnny said to me, "And we look like tourists." And I say, too bad. I am determined to document our life.

The BYU game started at 3:30, and Klane and Angie came over to watch it with us. They are our BYU football buddies out here. I didn't get any pictures of the game, but the pictures probably would have just shown looks of frustration. At one point, that hat Johnny's wearing in the above picture was thrown off his head and onto the ground. Yikes! Despite losing, we always have a fun time watching the games.

I made some molasses cookies during the game, and they filled the apartment with the smell of fall! It made me very excited for the coming months :)

After the game, all of us met up with Pat and Lindsay to go to A Salt & Battery in Greenwich Village.

After dinner, it was time to decide on dessert. We ended up at Grom, which is an Italian gelato place.

While the Koellings and Nathan enjoyed Grom, we went with the Hardings to Yogurtland. What can I say? I guess we're not foodies :)

The night was actually kind of chilly, perfect for a jacket. Lindsay came well-prepared... and I am in love with her jacket!

We rode home on the subway with the Koellings. Initially, we felt so lucky because our subway car had tons of empty seats. But we soon found out why when the drunk bum sitting all by his lonesome across from us began talking loudly at Johnny and Pat. (He apparently didn't like Johnny's hat or Pat's shirt.) Oh brother. At the next stop, we switched subway cars and left the bum to himself.

When we got home and out of the chilly weather, I was so ready to crawl under the covers and go to sleep!

I love it! It was a fun day and I'm glad you took pictures! Hope you don't mind if I steal a few... ;)

It feels so much like fall today, I am having this urge to get everyone together for FHE with a big pot of chili and a pan of cornbread (I'll provide the food). If the boys aren't working late we should do it. Or just any night this week. Or maybe just the girls. With The Office. :) One of these ideas needs to happen and SOON!

likey likey.

I especially like the last picture where you made it look like you were taking a picture of Johnny, but I know you were actually photographing the couple in the background getting-it-on on the park bench. :)

Oh no, do you not like gelato? I lurve gelato. I must come to NYC to try some! You know, I have never been.

Also, your hair seems longer.

These are my observations. I'm glad you're enjoying your time in the city with friendlies! SO GREAT. It's so glamorous-seeming to live in a metropolis.

have i ever mentioned just how much we love a salt and battery?

We went twice in one week once. Probably not good for the arteries.

I want to come visit!!! Can Finley, Asher and I drive up and stay for a few days? I want to experience the city, feel the cool air, eat the good food, and see my little sis!

Is that couple making out in the background of the picture of johnny?

Yes, Lindsay, they are. So was I taking a picture of Johnny, or am I a creep that likes to take pictures of people making out? I guess you'll never know...

Hahaha, i just realized I am in every photo in front of A Salt and Battery. And I also realized that pictures of me, Klane, you and Johnny always turn out blurry! Remember the ones from Nyonya? Funny!

Your life is alike a cute sitcom. My Saturdays are never this cool, and the people I hang out with are never dressed up like this. I live vicariously through you. Please update more so I feel like I have a life. ;)
