31-Week Bump

I can't believe 4 weeks have passed since my last pregnancy update. I'm loving that my due date is the beginning of January because the last months of my pregnancy are exciting ones: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas---I barely have time to think about being pregnant.

That being said, here are some of my feelings at this point:

Just call me Round Face Jo. It's hard to watch as my face gets rounder (as well as the rest of me), but it's for a good cause, so I can't complain too much.

Baby girl moves a lot, and her movements are BIG. I love every movement and kick I feel (including the ones to my ribs and bladder) because it means she's healthy. Still, no one could have prepared me for how crazy it feels.

I sleep good at night still, but sometimes I wake up during the night and can't fall back asleep for an hour or so. It's like my body is already preparing me for a night-time feeding session with a newborn.

I'm hot all the time! And once I get hot, it takes frigid air to cool me off. Last night I had to just stand on the front porch for a few minutes in 40-degree weather until my body temperature regulated itself.

I'm also thirsty all the time! I can't get enough water ever.

I get heartburn almost daily, it's hard to walk further than about a mile at a time, and sitting in one position for more than a few minutes is next to impossible, but despite all that, I would still say that pregnancy's not that uncomfortable. Maybe it's because these changes happen gradually over time, but I still feel pretty normal. Considering I'm lugging around a 3 pound baby and all of her cargo 24/7, it's actually pretty easy!

As far as preparedness for the baby goes, I'm reading another book right now, and Johnny and I have purchased almost everything we need for a newborn. After researching lists and talking to friends and family, I made a list of my own and went crazy on Amazon. Having most of the essentials now definitely makes baby girl's arrival seem more real and that much more exciting!
