We were kind of stressed about the flight (Johnny) because I'm known for throwing up on airplanes. Yes, it's one of my many flaws. So the night before the flight I took something and then the morning of I took another something, and I didn't get sick at all. It was so great.
THEN, we went and picked up our rental car, and right before driving away, we saw a different car that we'd rather have. SO, we moved all our stuff to that car and drove to our hotel. As we were getting our luggage out of our car at the hotel, I yelled out, "Johnny!!!" because I had just realized that a certain piece of our luggage was missing: my camera bag. And my wallet, phone, and Kindle were all in that bag as well. By this point it started raining, and there was a deathly silence between us as we drove back to the rental car location (a.k.a. the airport). The car we had left it in was nowhere to be seen, and the man we talked to insisted that nothing had been turned in. We insisted that he still look in the lost and found. So he did. And two minutes later he emerged with my camera bag! With everything still inside!! We were both so relieved and happy! Vacation-ruining incident: averted.
We deserved Chick-fil-a, and drove to one immediately (I promise this whole post won't be a minute-by-minute play-by-play of our vacation.). After a morning of flying and being stressed out, I don't think a meal has ever tasted so good.
The rest of our vacation went off without a hitch. It was perfection. My husband is such a laid-back man when work is far from his mind. We spent four days on the beach or by the pool, soaking up the sun.
the obligatory person with a metal detector . . . always
nothing compares to nightly walks on the beach
Florida, you were good to us. I swear, at some point we will live someplace warm. Until then, vacations will have to suffice!

BTW: It is totally my dream to be that person with the metal detector.
This post was lovely on its own, but the metal detector guy put it over the top. Love.
