Life Lately

Our weekend came and went. It was a luxuriously long weekend. Now, it's Wednesday and I'm not sure where the time has gone.

Johnny has been working long hours lately, and the long weekend was well-deserved for him.  Johnny spent almost every waking moment on Saturday watching college football. BYU won its first football game, and no one was more thrilled than my husband---trust me.

We were able to watch the game with the Hardings and the Youngbergs. The Youngbergs were perfect hosts, and I am proud to say that we were all wearing Cougar blue! Half the excitement of football season is having BYU fans to watch the games with!

With the late hours Johnny's been working / the cancelling of our Netflix instant play / the start of college football, I decided I needed to start a new craft project. After much deliberation, I settled on crocheting a blanket, and the picture at the top of this post is my first finished square! I'm quite proud of myself. Now we'll just have to see if I can stick with it...

Also, the fall weather has started to hit NYC, and I would be lying if I didn't say that I'm loving it, because I am. I am a summer girl through and through, but fall comes in close second for me. I couldn't contain my excitement and ended up purchasing two fall cardigans on Monday. Johnny is not much of a fan of fall, and I tried to have him pretend that "fall" stands for "football" without the "ootb," but he didn't buy it. His loss. I'm sure the ensuing months will feature many posts on both fall and football.

Please keep us updated on your crotchet project. I saw you had pinned it on Pinterest and I was really excited because I am terrible at crotchet so I'm always in awe of others who do it well. It looks like such an awesome blanket!

And I'm totally with you on the fall thing. Love, love, love summer, but I still get excited for the fall months. I just wish they lasted longer and winter was shorter!

Fall is my all-time favorite season! All of a sudden Oregon is getting this 90-degree heat wave, and I just don't get it. Our summer was mostly in the 70s and 80s, so this spell is perplexing and unwelcome. I'm so ready for fall!

I am resisting fall like crazy this year. I am just NOT ready for summer to be over. I'm glad you're excited. Maybe I just need some sin popcorn to convert me to the goodness of fall. Haha.

The game was so fun! One of the best things about fall is definitely football.

Okay, I don't hate fall. I like wearing sweaters and jackets, I like the leaves changing, I like the fall comfort foods. I think summer just went by too quickly, that's all.

Joanna, your quilt looks like it is going to be pretty much the coolest thing ever. Actually it already is. Just that one square is magnifico!

And normally I would be excited about fall but since I am here and I know that once the cold weather starts it just keeps on a coming, I'm not so excited...but fall in NYC has to be pretty exciting! I wish I could come visit so much!!!
