Johnny, Will, and I went panning for gold on Saturday. Apparently, American Fork Canyon is a known hot spot for gold, so we thought it'd be fun since it is so nearby. We found this prospector store nearby (random), and Johnny and I went and got our supplies. We were the only people in the store, which was full of all kinds of interesting items. You could tell that the store owner took all of it pretty seriously. Johnny said to him, "Yeah, we thought panning for gold would be a fun activity to try." The man just looked at him like he couldn't believe that Johnny would take it so lightly. Haha. It was really relaxing just being by the water, and all of us found teeny-tiny pieces of gold! The only drawback was that it wasn't that warm, so we plan to go again once this blasted weather comes to an end.

here here on the blasted weather! It's been snowing all morning at my house.
I'd love to try panning for gold sometime, too! Maybe we can strike it rich together!!
good post, jo
Who knew?!? I spent so much time up that canyon and never suspected the wealth beneath my feet!
maybe i will live in american fork when i grow up. i will just live off of gold instead of being a wedding designer :)
p.s. it is 85 degrees here :)
i'm still stunned by what an odd activity this is... and also by the fact of how much i would love to find myself some gold specs!
