All things Johnny

Today is Johnny's birthday! The party actually started yesterday afternoon when Johnny and I went to go pick up his cake at Chuck E. Cheese's! We were both enveloped in childhood memories as we played in the play area while waiting for the cake. Unfortunately there was no ball pit! Last night we did most of the birthday celebrations with Johnny's friends Dave, Jeff, and Danny because tonight we're off to Alpine. We went with them to this Peruvian restaurant called La Carreta. I doubt that most Peruvians actually have chips and salsa with their meal, but I was very disappointed when all they gave us was chips and no salsa. But I guess that's better than getting salmonella. The meals were very yummy, and it was fun to see Johnny with his single friends that normally shy away from hanging out with us married folks. After dinner, we came back and enjoyed some cake and ice cream. Afterwards we all went to a movie. The movie started at 10:00, which was quite late for Johnny and me, but since we're leaving on vacation tomorrow, we decided to do something rash.
Today, Johnny's real birthday, we have worked all day and will spend the evening packing for our trip. But hopefully the thought of leaving on vacation will make it a good birthday after all!
